Whether you're looking for a full diagnostic assessment, a screening to explore possible indicators or an access arrangements assessment for exams, I provide clear, professional guidance every step of the way - with reassurance, clarity, and support at the heart of what I do.
Dyslexia Assessment Services

(Age 8-18)
A full, formal diagnostic assessment for dyslexia, carried out in person in a calm and supportive setting. This detailed 3-hour session explores a student’s strengths and challenges in reading, writing, memory and processing.Includes:
A comprehensive diagnostic report*
Personalised recommendations for school and home
Cost: £645
Ideal for families looking for clarity, next steps, and formal identification of dyslexia.
*I aim to give verbal feedback within 48hrs and full report in 2-4 weeks.
If you decide to go ahead with an assessment, I’ll email you the payment details for a non-refundable £100 deposit to secure your booking. Your assessment date will be confirmed once the deposit has been received, with the remaining balance due by the day before your scheduled assessment.

A gentle, 30-minute online screener designed to help identify whether a student may be at risk of dyslexia.
This is not a formal diagnosis, but a helpful first step to understand how your child is processing words, sounds and patterns.You’ll receive:
A clear, easy-to-understand online report
A follow-up phone call to talk through the results and answer any questions
Cost £60*
This can be a great way to explore whether further assessment or support may be helpful.
*If a full diagnostic assessment is booked afterwards, £60 is deducted from the total cost.

Short, focused assessments to check a student’s eligibility for exam access arrangements, such as extra time, a reader, or a scribe, for GCSE and A Level exams.
Designed to meet current JCQ guidelines and provide the evidence schools may require to apply for support.

A calm, professional process to help ensure every student has the tools they need to show what they’re capable of.
All assessments take place in Katie’s calm, welcoming home in Esher. Parents are welcome to drop their child off and return at the end of the session. Katie is DBS-checked and currently teaches, bringing both expertise and real-world understanding to each assessment.
About Katie
With over 20 years of teaching experience and a deep passion for supporting children and young people with Specific Learning Difficulties, I specialise in working with students who have dyslexia and related learning differences.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in SpLD (Dyslexia) from the Institute of Education, UCL, and I’m a qualified Specialist Teacher (Level 5) and Specialist Assessor (Level 7) of SpLD. I also hold an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), allowing me to carry out formal diagnostic assessments.
My qualifications include:
Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) – Roehampton University
National SENCo Award – University of Roehampton
Qualified Teacher Status
Graduate Diploma, Specific Learning Difficulties (dyslexia)
I’m a Professional Member of PATOSS (the Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties) and an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA), keeping me up to date with best practice and guidance in the field.
Based in Surrey and South West London, I offer personalised, supportive, and evidence-based tuition and assessment to help learners build confidence, unlock their potential and thrive.
A Little More About Me
I live in Surrey with my partner and our 4 children plus Coco - our lively cockerpoo. When I’m not working, I enjoy going on trail runs, lifting weights and spending time with my family. Weekends usually involve cheering on my son at football matches and I love listening to Taylor Swift with my daughters.
